Last season as a sophomore at Clemson, Godfrey played in all 36 games and averaged 6.1 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.

Godfrey’s father is former Bulldog linebacker Randall Godfrey, who played in Athens from 1992 through 1995 before an 11-year career in the NFL.

RJ Godfrey is the fifth player to commit to Mike White and the Bulldogs this spring. The Bulldogs have also picked up former Kentucky commitment Somto Cyril, as well as transfer teammates De’Shayne Montgomery and Dakota Leffew from Mount St. Mary’s along with Justin Abson from Appalachian State.

Georgia also inked consensus five-star power forward Asa Newell last fall.

The Bulldogs still have five spots to fill for the 2024-25 season following the departures of Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe, Frank Anselem-Ibe, Jabri Abdur-Rahim, Jalen DeLoach, Justin Hill, Mari Jordan, and RJ Melendez.
