Georgia to play Florida State in 2023 ACC/SEC Challenge
The Georgia Bulldogs will play the Florida State Seminoles in the 2023 ACC/SEC Challenge, ESPN announced on Wednesday.
Georgia will travel to take on Florida State at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center in Tallahassee, Fla., on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023 at 9:15pm ET. The game will mark the first meeting between the two schools since 1981.
Georgia and Florida State first met in basketball during the 1951-52 season. The Seminoles currently lead the overall series 19-10.
On Tuesday, it was reported that Georgia will host Winthrop on Friday, Nov. 24 and Mercer on Friday, Dec. 1.
UGA is scheduled to open the 2023-24 season against the Oregon Ducks at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Monday, Nov. 6, 2023 in a contest that is part of the Naismith Hall of Fame Series.
The Bulldogs will also compete in the 2023 Baha Mar Bahamas Hoops Championship, an annual preseason college basketball tournament that is held at the Baha Mar Convention Center in Nassau, Bahamas. Georgia will open the tournament facing the Miami Hurricanes on Friday, Nov. 17 and will then play either the Kansas State Wildcats or Providence Friars in the championship or consolation game on Sunday, Nov. 19.
In other home non-conference action this season at Stegeman Coliseum, Georgia is scheduled to host Wake Forest on Friday, Nov. 10, Mount St. Mary’s on Wednesday, Dec. 20, North Florida on Friday, Dec. 22, Alabama A&M on Saturday, Dec. 30, and Georgia Tech on a date to be announced.
On Monday, the SEC announced Georgia’s conference opponents for the 2023-24 season. Here’s a look at who the Hoop Dawgs will face in conference action:
