Georgia Bulldogs Signing Day 2014 Updates

Wednesday, February 5 is National Signing Day 2014. The Georgia Bulldogs are once again expected to sign a Top 10 class.

Mark Richt and the Georgia Bulldogs currently have 18 verbal commitments. Georgia’s 2014 class is currently ranked 7th by Rivals.com, 8th by 247Sports, and 11th by Scout.com.

The Dawgs are hoping to land a few of their big-time uncommitted targets:

  • Lorenzo Carter (DE, 6-5, 235, 4.65) – Will choose between UGA, Alabama, Florida, and Florida State. Rated 5-stars by 247Sports and 4-stars by Rivals.com.
UPDATE: Carter committed to UGA live on ESPNU!
  • T.J. Harrell (ATH, 6-1, 210, 4.5) – Harrell, a 4-star recruit, appears to favor Michigan State, followed by Georgia and then Louisville.
UPDATE: Harrell has officially signed with Michigan State.
  • Isaiah McKenzie (WR, 5-8, 165) – McKenzie is a teammate of UGA commitment Sony Michel. Georgia offered McKenzie late but could still land the 4-star WR. He is also considering Florida, Ole Miss, and Notre Dame. Announcement time: 8:30am ET.
UPDATE: McKenzie has committed to UGA!
  • Tavon Ross (ATH/WR, 6-1, 196) – Currently committed to Missouri. Rated 3-stars by Rivals.com. Announcement time: 1:30pm ET.
UPDATE: Ross has signed with Missouri.
  • Elisha Shaw (DT, 6-6, 299) – Shaw, a 3-star recruit, will choose between the Bulldogs, Alabama, and Ole Miss. Announcement time: 10am ET.
UPDATE: Shaw has committed to Alabama.
  • Andrew Williams (DE, 6-4, 245) – Will chose between Georgia, Auburn, and Clemson. Rated 4-stars by Rivals.com. Announcement time: 2pm ET.
UPDATE: Williams has committed to Auburn.

Of those six, Lorenzo Carter may be the most likely to sign with the Dawgs. Carter took a last-minute official visit to UGA this weekend and was reportedly blown away.

Andrew Williams is also seriously considering the Bulldogs, and it would bolster Georgia’s class if they were to land him. Georgia was late offering wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie, but he is definitely considering the Bulldogs and could end up in Athens.

As we do each year, Sicemdawgs.com will post the 2014 Georgia Bulldog signees as they come in. We will also update this post throughout the day (see “Live Signing Day Updates” below). Feel free to join the signing day discussion in the comments section at the bottom.

  • Latest update on Zo Carter. He's in English class and got an adverb mixed up with an adjective on a quiz. Otherwise, doing well. More to follow...

    • Latest update on Carter via ESPN announcemet. Carter FLIPS HIS COMMITMENT and signs with FSU!!! REASON, verbal altercation with coach Bobo. Nothing further at this time. Why is Bobo even talking to him??? Lemont might also flip now. Bobo has really done it now. I defended coach Bobo but no more!#!!###

      • Lemont is officially gone out the door. Stated reason, same as L Carter!!!! Can't get along with UNNAMED COACH!!! Carter and Lemont G were very close. Pals from pony league days. Thanks coach Bobo. ESPN states there are more rumblings.

        • Well USA is in talks with 1 star backup QB Banco Hightower. Coach Bobo feels he can develop the high school backup into a decent QB someday . He has a better than average arm. And runs the 40 in 5.6 not bad.His biggest down side is size. At 5 foot 5 1/2 150 he is not the biggest guy. But he has the biggest heart tweeted coach Bobo. He reminds me of Rudy. Coach Bobo says this signing will help our class. He was backup to the 30th overall rated QB in the nation. Personally I have my doubts about this so called new Rudy. We needed Carter and Lemont G, not Rudy.

  • Just saw where Andrew Williams will go with Auburn! Oh well hope we get Lorenzo Carter! If not we still have a great National Signing Day! 20 great players sure isn't bad!
