The Georgia Bulldogs have added the Gardner-Webb Runnin’ Bulldogs to their 2026-27 men’s basketball schedule, per a report from Marc Weiszer of the Athens Banner-Herald.

Georgia will host Gardner-Webb on Sunday, December 20, 2026, at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Ga. The Bulldogs will pay the Runnin’ Bulldogs a $95,000 guarantee for the game, per the report.

The 2026 meeting will be the sixth all‑time between the two programs, with Georgia holding a 4-1 advantage in the series. In their last meeting in 2021, Georgia dropped a 77-60 decision to Gardner-Webb at home.

Gardner-Webb competes in the Big South Conference. The Runnin’ Bulldogs finished the 2025-26 campaign 4-29 overall and 1-15 in league play.

In June, Georgia’s SEC opponents for the 2026-27 season were revealed by the conference. The Hoop Dawgs will host Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, and Vanderbilt, while traveling to Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas A&M.

Georgia’s 2026-27 non-conference schedule has not been officially announced yet, but several opponents are known. The Bulldogs are slated to open the season at home at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Ga., on Monday, Nov. 2 against North Carolina Central.

Additionally, the Bulldogs will host Florida Gulf Coast on Monday, November 9, West Georgia on Wednesday, December 16, and North Florida on Tuesday, December 29.

Georgia’s non‑conference slate this fall also includes a road trip to North Carolina on Friday, November 13, as well as a visit to Georgia Tech on a date to be announced.

Georgia was also announced as a host in the 2026 ACC/SEC Challenge, welcoming Boston College to Stegeman Coliseum on Tuesday, December 1.

Last month, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reported that Georgia will face Duke in the 2026 Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden. Rothstein also noted that the Bulldogs will be one of four teams in the 2026 ESPN Events Invitational in Orlando, Fla., joining Boston College, Cincinnati, and UCF.
