Jeremiah Wilkinson, Somto Cyril to enter transfer portal

Georgia men’s basketball is set to lose two members of its backcourt–frontcourt rotation as sophomore guard Jeremiah Wilkinson and sophomore center Somto Cyril both plan to enter the NCAA transfer portal, it was announced this week.

Wilkinson, a 6‑1 guard from Powder Springs, Ga., transferred to Georgia after a strong freshman season at Cal, where he appeared in 32 of 33 games with 14 starts and earned recognition as one of the ACC’s top reserves.

Known for his quickness, on‑ball creation, and defensive energy, Wilkinson provided backcourt depth for the Bulldogs throughout the 2025-26 campaign. Wilkinson appeared in all 33 games for the Bulldogs, averaging 17.4 points per game (540 total), 54 assists, 49 steals, and 63 rebounds.

Cyril, meanwhile, continued to develop as one of Georgia’s most efficient interior players. The sophomore big man delivered 9.3 points and 5.4 rebounds per game while shooting 75.9% from the field, ranking among the SEC’s most accurate finishers. His combination of rim protection, physicality, and elite efficiency made him a key piece of Georgia’s frontcourt rotation throughout the season.

Their departures leave head coach Mike White with significant production to replace as the Bulldogs reshape their roster heading into the offseason. Both Wilkinson and Cyril will have multiple years of eligibility remaining at their next destinations.
