Three Bulldogs named to 2023 Biletnikoff Award Watch List

UGA football junior tight end Brock Bowers and junior wide receivers Ladd McConkey and Dominic Lovett have each been named to the 2023 Biletnikoff Award Watch List, according to an announcement from the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation.

The three Bulldogs are among eight players from the Southeastern Conference named to the watch list for the award, which recognizes the season’s outstanding receiver in college football. The other five are Zakhari Franklin (Ole Miss), Tre Harris (Ole Miss), Malik Nabers (LSU), Will Sheppard (Vanderbilt), and Antwane Wells Jr. (South Carolina).

Semifinalists for the 2023 Biletnikoff Award will be named on Monday, Nov. 20 before three finalists are named on Tuesday, Nov. 28. The winner of the 2023 Biletnikoff Award will be announced live on ESPN on The Home Depot College Football Awards Show on Thursday, Dec. 7.

Brock Bowers hails from Napa, Calif. In his two seasons in Athens, Bowers has caught 119 passes for 1,824 yards (15.3 avg.) and 20 touchdowns. He has also rushed 13 times for 165 yards and four touchdowns.

Bowers has also been named to the watch list for the 2023 Maxwell Award and the John Mackey Award.

Ladd McConkey, who hails from Chatsworth, Ga., has amassed 89 receptions, 1209 yards, and 12 touchdowns during his two seasons in Athens. He also has 11 rushes for 178 yards and three touchdowns.

McConkey has also been named to the watch list for the 2023 Wuerffel Trophy and has been nominated by UGA for the William V. Campbell Trophy.

Dominic Lovett is from Belleville, Ill., and transferred to UGA from Missouri. He finished the 2022 season leading Mizzou with 56 receptions and 846 yards and three touchdowns.

The back-to-back national champion Georgia Bulldogs are scheduled to open the 2023 season on Saturday, Sept. 2 against the UT Martin Skyhawks at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga. (Buy Tickets).
