The date has been set for the annual Georgia-Georgia Tech basketball game in 2023, according to a report by Rocco Miller.

Georgia will host Georgia Tech in the basketball edition of “Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate” at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Ga., on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023.

Georgia and Georgia Tech have met 198 times in a series that began with a pair of games during the 1905-06 season. In fact, those two games against the Yellow Jackets were the only two contests Georgia played that season.

Last season, the Bulldogs fell to the Yellow Jackets 79-77 at McCamish Pavilion in Atlanta, Ga. Georgia Tech currently leads the overall series 107-91.

UGA is scheduled to open the 2023-24 season against the Oregon Ducks at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Monday, Nov. 6, 2023 in a contest that is part of the Naismith Hall of Fame Series.

The Bulldogs will also compete in the 2023 Baha Mar Bahamas Hoops Championship, an annual preseason college basketball tournament that is held at the Baha Mar Convention Center in Nassau, Bahamas. Georgia will open the tournament facing the Miami Hurricanes on Friday, Nov. 17 and will then play either the Kansas State Wildcats or Providence Friars in the championship or consolation game on Sunday, Nov. 19.

In other home non-conference action this season at Stegeman Coliseum, Georgia is scheduled to host Wake Forest on Friday, Nov. 10, Winthrop on Friday, Nov. 24, Mercer on Friday, Dec. 1, Mount St. Mary’s on Wednesday, Dec. 20, North Florida on Friday, Dec. 22, and Alabama A&M on Saturday, Dec. 30.

Georgia will also travel to face Florida State on Wednesday, Nov. 29 in the inaugural ACC/SEC Challenge.

Georgia’s conference opponents for the 2023-24 season have also been announced. Here’s a look at who the Hoop Dawgs will face in SEC action:

HOME: Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas A&M
