Four-star wide receiver Van Jefferson has decommitted from the Georgia Bulldogs. He is the second recruit to decommit from UGA this month following the loss of Mike Bobo and Will Friend to Colorado State.

Jefferson (6-2, 172) committed to the Bulldogs on Aug. 25, 2014 over Florida, Ohio State, and Tennessee. He also had offers from Auburn, Clemson, Kentucky, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Penn State, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt.

According to reports, Jefferson is still considering the Bulldogs along with Ole Miss, Oklahoma, and Florida.

In the 247Sports Composite rankings, Jefferson is listed as a 4-star recruit, the No. 11 wide receiver in the country and the No. 110 overall recruit.

Rivals.com rates Jefferson 4-stars and No. 138 overall in their Rivals250 2015.

With the loss of Jefferson, the Georgia Bulldogs are now down to 26 commitments for the 2015 class.

4-Star offensive lineman Patrick Allen decommitted from UGA earlier this month, but is also still considering the Dawgs.

  • Anyone who breaks a "Promise" and looks for someone to kiss their butt to get them to keep their solemn commitment, is someone with no guts or character. Georgia doesn't need wimps.

  • Go get the young man from Benedictine in Savannah, Brad Stewart!!!! Tony Ball has contacted him so now tell us why he wasn't offered. Darius Slayton of Greater Atlanta Christian played against Benedictine twice this past season. Ask Slayton what he thinks of Stewart's capabilities as a wide receiver.
