Georgia basketball strengthened its frontcourt on Thursday, adding Ole Miss transfer James Scott to its 2026-27 roster, per a report from UGASports.com.
Scott (6-10, 225) appeared in all 35 games for the Rebels last season, earning 27 starts. He averaged 3.9 points and 4.6 rebounds per game while leading the team with 46 blocks. He also contributed 17 steals and posted a team‑best 72.9% field‑goal percentage, one of the most efficient marks in the SEC.
Before arriving in Oxford, Scott spent his sophomore season at Louisville, where he again played in all 35 games and made 31 starts. He averaged 7.1 points and 6.1 rebounds for the Cardinals, shooting an impressive 75.5% from the floor.
A Fayetteville, N.C., native, Scott originally signed with College of Charleston in 2023 after completing his prep career at E.E. Smith High School.
Scott becomes Georgia’s fourth transfer‑portal addition for the 2026-27 season, joining former Penn State guard Freddie Dilione IV, former Saint Louis forward Brady Dunlap, and former St. Bonaventure center Andrew Osasuyi.
Head coach Mike White has also signed two newcomers outside the portal: Nigerian forward David Ugonna Ike and JUCO guard Kemauri “Kemo” Millender, the younger brother of current Bulldog Marcus “Smurf” Millender.
