Peyton Woodring named to 2025 Lou Groza Award Watch List

UGA junior placekicker Peyton Woodring has been named to the 2025 Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award Watch List, the Palm Beach County Sports Commission announced Friday.
The Groza Award, named after legendary place-kicker Lou Groza, is an annual college football award given to the nation’s best kicker.
Woodring, who hails from Lafayette, La., connected on 21-of-23 field goal attempts last season (91%). He also made all 48 of his extra-point attempts.
Those numbers during his sophomore season earned Peyton Woodring semifinalist honors for the 2024 Lou Groza Award. He was also named named a Coaches First Team All-SEC selection as a kickoff specialist, as well as an AP and Coaches Second Team All-SEC selection as a placekicker.
In the season-opener vs. Clemson at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga., Woodring connected on a 30-yard field-goal before making a career-long 55-yarder in the Bulldog victory.
The Georgia Bulldogs are set to open the 2025 season at home against the Marshall Thundering Herd on Saturday, Aug. 30. The game will be televised live by ESPN at 3:30pm ET (Buy Tickets).
