Georgia moves up three spots in College Football Playoff Rankings

The Georgia Bulldogs have moved up three spots in the latest College Football Playoff Rankings released Tuesday evening by the CFP Committee.

Georgia (9-2, 6-2 SEC) moved up three spots to No. 7 after defeating the UMass Minutemen at home, 59-21. Last week, the Bulldogs moved up two spots from No. 12 to No. 10 after defeating Tennessee.

The Oregon Ducks (11-0) top the CFP rankings for the fourth consecutive week, followed again by the Ohio State Buckeyes (10-1) in second. The Texas Longhorns (third), Penn State Nittany Lions (fourth), and Notre Dame Fighting Irish (fifth) round out the top five of the third set of CFP rankings.

Teams in the latest College Football Playoff Rankings that Georgia has played include No. 3 Texas (won 30-15), No. 8 Tennessee (won 31-17), No. 12 Clemson (won 34-3), No. 13 Alabama (lost 41-34), and No. 14 Ole Miss (lost 28-10).

Georgia is currently ranked No. 8 in the AP Poll and US LBM Coaches Poll. Check out the full College Football Playoff Rankings below:

Here is a look at what the 12-team College Football Playoff Bracket would look like based on tonight’s rankings:

The College Football Playoff Selection Committee will release its penultimate Top 25 rankings next week on Tuesday, Dec. 3. Then on Sunday, Dec. 8, the College Football Playoff Selection Committee will announce the 12-team playoff bracket pairings and game sites via the Selection Day show beginning at noon ET on ESPN.

The Georgia Bulldogs (9-2, 6-2 SEC) are next scheduled to host the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Friday, Nov. 29 at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga. The game will be televised by ABC at 7:30pm ET (Buy Tickets).

Georgia has also qualified for the 2024 SEC Championship Game on Saturday, Dec. 7 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga. The Bulldogs will face either the Texas Longhorns or Texas A&M Aggies.
