Georgia adds Charleston Southern to 2024-25 basketball schedule

The Georgia Bulldogs have added the Charleston Southern Buccaneers to their 2024-25 basketball schedule, according to a report from the Athens Banner-Herald.

Per the report, Georgia will host Charleston Southern at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Ga., on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2024. The game will mark the fifth meeting between the two schools in basketball, with all four previous meetings won by UGA.

Charleston Southern is a member of the Big South Conference in Division I. The Buccaneers finished the 2023-24 season 10-20 overall and 6-10 in conference play.

Last month, it was announced that Georgia will host the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the ACC/SEC Challenge at Stegeman Coliseum on Tuesday, Dec. 3.

The Bulldogs also added a home tilt against the North Florida Ospreys, with the game set for Tuesday, Nov. 12. That game is part of the Peach State Classic event, which will also see Georgia host the Texas Southern Tigers on Nov. 10.

Georgia is also scheduled to face the Marquette Golden Eagles at The Atlantis Paradise Island Bahamas on Saturday, November 23 next season, which was announced in January. The Bulldogs will remain in the Bahamas for a second contest against the St. John’s Red Storm on Sunday, Nov. 24.

The Bulldogs are also slated to host South Carolina State at home on Dec. 29 and they will also travel to face the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. The two in-state rivals will meet at McCamish Pavilion in Atlanta, Ga., on a date to be determined.

Last month, the SEC announced Georgia’s opponents for the 2024-25 season. The Bulldogs will host Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt at Stegeman Coliseum.

Road SEC opponents include Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Texas A&M.
