Georgia to play Marquette in the Bahamas next season

The Georgia Bulldogs will face the Marquette Golden Eagles at The Atlantis Paradise Island Bahamas on Saturday, November 23 next season, it was announced on Friday.
Georgia and Marquette will play a single-game at the Imperial Ballroom at The Atlantis Paradise Island Resort. Complete Sports Management set up the contest.
“We are thrilled to welcome two premier men’s basketball programs in Georgia and Marquette to compete on a true neutral court at The Atlantis in November,” said Lea Miller, Complete Sports Management’s CEO “I have had the opportunity to work with both Coach Smart and Coach White down in Paradise in the past, and I know this will be a special experience for the teams as well as their fans”
Georgia and Marquette first met in basketball in the 1974 Milwaukee Classic in Milwaukee, Wisc. The 14th-ranked Golden Eagles won that contest, 100-70.
The two schools have met an additional two times on the hardcourt with each team recording a victory. Marquette traveled to Athens on Dec. 4, 2016 and defeated the Bulldogs, 89-79, and then the Bulldogs returned the favor the following season on Dec. 2, 2017 at Marquette, 73-66.
