2017 four-star quarterback Bailey Hockman has decommitted from the Georgia Bulldogs. Hockman announced his decision Monday morning on Twitter.
“First off, I would like to thank all the coaches and fans of the University of Georgia for the opportunity and support to be a part of there(sic) program,” Hockman wrote. “I have decided to de-commit to open back up my recruitment and make sure I am at the best place for myself and development as a student-athlete thank you.”
Hockman (6-2, 210) committed to the Bulldogs over a long list of offers, including Alabama, Auburn, FSU, Louisville, Miami (FL), Michigan State, Oklahoma State, South Carolina, Stanford, and Tennessee.
In the 247Sports Composite rankings, Bailey Hockman is listed as a 4-star recruit, the No. 3 pro-style quarterback, and the No. 63 overall recruit in the nation for the 2017 class.
Rivals.com and Scout.com also rate Hockman as a 4-star recruit.
Bailey Hockman is the third UGA recruit to decommit since Mark Richt was fired and Kirby Smart was hired. The others were cornerback Malek Young and running back Devwah Whaley, both 2016 recruits.
