Todd Gurley not traveling with team to Arkansas

Todd Gurley will not travel with the UGA football team today to Arkansas, the school has confirmed.

Georgia is busing from Athens to Atlanta for their team flight to Little Rock.

Todd Gurley will remain in Athens under indefinite suspension as UGA continues to investigate whether he accepted money in return for signing autographs.

Yesterday evening, UGA officials returned from an NCAA meeting in Indianapolis and issued a brief statement that basically said they have nothing to state.

The NCAA followed that up with a tweet saying they were still working with UGA and were “awaiting the school’s request for reinstatement.”

It appears as if the NCAA is ready to make a ruling, but UGA is dragging their feet. Several other athletes have recently been investigated for the same allegations, but only Johnny Manziel served a suspension (1/2 of a game).

UGA’s administration will have a lot to answer for if Todd Gurley is held out much longer without much more evidence than what has been alleged.

With all that being said, there is still a remote possibility Gurley could make it to Arkansas. But that would likely only happen if he is reinstated sometime today.

We all hope that will happen, but the chances are slim at this point. Stay tuned…

Update: Oh well.

  • Way to go FSU!! You have a menace that is allowed to play QB without any restrictions. Gurley must have robbed Fort Knox, yep, a source just confirmed that. UGA will sit Gurley for the remainder of the year; UGA will even ask the NFL to do the same to Gurley as well. It's a great mystery why UGA never won a NC with the current administration. No balls!

UGA has the best running back in the country, but UGA drags their feet with any type of movement. If Gurley sits out another game, he needs to say FAY and hire an agent. While UGA drowns in their tears and patches up their bumps and bruises as ARK runs over CMR, UGA remains firm to sit Gurley. Tired of this!!!!

  • I Totally Concur with the above statement!!!!! This has become a situation that can be classified as FUBAR. We read that the NCAA is waiting for UGA to make a decision ---- so what is the hold up? When is the UGA Athletic Department going to bring out the cross and nails so they can really do this kid in? Who has the final decision -- does anyone know?
Hang in there Todd and when you make it to the NFL remember what McGarity said -- we'll take care of Todd Gurley and get him an attorney. I hope you make it big and when they come looking for a donation tell 'em to Kiss Your Ass!.

  • FSU has the greatest coach and institution in the country. UGA wishes Winston would play for them. Go FSU!!! However, one has to scratch their head to wonder why more wasn't done to at least submit the reinstatement papers to the NCAA. Believe me, y'all will definitely need him tomorrow. Oh well...too bad, too sad!!! HA, HA, HA...LOL, LOL...I hope y'all lose the rest of your games. Your coach is a wimp..your QB sucks ass...your defense sucks...Gurley was your only hope, and you don't have him. I think it's funny as hell.

  • Drew Rankin i think you're dumb as hell. There, we both have thoughts. Ultimately, what's going to happen is that FSU will have to vacate wins and perhaps its bowl game/title game victory for using an ineligible player. Now for all you biotching and moaning, think about if the NCAA, did this to UGA, you guys would have said we should have sat TG3 , most of you are really dumb hypocrites.

  • Drew,

You should be more concerned with ND than with what is happening or not happening with the DAWGs. We can beat yall with or without Gurley.
