Two Chick-fil-A College Kickoff football games in one weekend? That’s what The Birmingham News has reported:
Tennessee and North Carolina State already are scheduled to play in one kickoff game at the Georgia Dome in the opening weekend of the 2012 season. The proposed Miami game against Alabama or another Southeastern Conference team would be a second kickoff game that weekend.
“We could do Thursday-Saturday, Thursday-Monday or Saturday-Monday,” Stokan said. “That’s Labor Day weekend. Probably Thursday-Saturday would be best.”
Gary Stokan, president of the Chick-fil-A Bowl, went on to state that if Alabama declines the game, Auburn, Georgia or South Carolina “would be teams to consider.”
Looking at our 2012 Georgia Bulldogs Football Schedule, which is tentative, there is an opening on September 1 which falls in line with the College Kickoff. The Bulldogs already have 2012 non-conference games scheduled at Louisville and home against Georgia Tech.
Georgia and Miami last played in 1966, a 7-6 win for the Hurricanes. The Bulldogs lead the overall series against the Hurricanes 7-4-1. All 12 games have been played in Miami.
Last October, UGA declined an offer to face Georgia Tech in the 2011 Chick-fil-a game. A matchup for the 2011 College Kickoff has yet to be announced.

I would love to see this game, although it would mean only 5 games in Athens.
I also noticed we may have a home-and-home with Miami in basketball, too.
Does not seem likely as no way we only play 5 homes games. Between the money we would likley lose out on (that would have to be a huge chix-fil pay out to both teams to equal our home game revenue) the season tix holders/alumni would not be happy with only 5 home games.
miami is close to signing a deal with notre dame to play that year.
and we won't give up a home game. we would make more at home than we would for the payout playing in atl and the fans would be happier about being in athens.
this won't happen

Looks like Georgia won't play in this game until after 2013:
