Georgia falls to Oklahoma State, 11-9, in Regional

ATHENS, Ga – Seventh-seed Georgia closed out the 2024-25 season against Oklahoma State, falling, 11-9, on a walk-off two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth Sunday afternoon in an elimination game of the NCAA Athens Regional.
Fast Facts:
• Junior JT Quinn got his seventh start on the mound for Georgia. He tied his longest outing of the season with four innings pitched, allowing three runs on four hits and striking out six batters.
• Slate Alford (3-4, 3 RBI, 2 HR, BB) put the Bulldogs on the board with a two-run homer in the top of the third. He struck again in the fourth with a solo blast, making this the third time this season he has hit multiple home runs in one game.
• Tre Phelps tied the game at three when he knocked a double in the third inning and advanced to third on a throwing error, which scored Robbie Burnett. The hit extended his hit streak to 14 games.
• Christian Adams (4-5, 4 RBI, 2 HR) had a multi-home run day as well with a two-run in the third and a solo in the fifth. His RBI single to left field gave Georgia the lead in the seventh.
• Oklahoma State’s Matt Brown (1-0) earned his first win of the season after collecting three strikeouts over one inning of work. Zach Harris (3-1) entered the game in the bottom of the ninth and suffered the loss for the Bulldogs.
• The Bulldogs ended their season with a record of 43-17, which included a 30-7 record at Foley Field.

In the NCAA Athens Regional finale, Duke defeated Oklahoma State, 3-2, to advance to the NCAA Super Regional.

• Reid Easterly (9-2) earned the win for Duke, with a two-inning outing, tallying two strikeouts. Ryan Ure (2-5) received the loss for Oklahoma State, allowing three runs off two hits, in 0.1 innings.
• Oklahoma State’s Kollin Ritchie blasted a two-run homer in the fourth to put the Cowboys on the board.
• Duke’s AJ Gracia hit a solo home run in the eighth to cut Oklahoma State’s lead to one run.
• Duke sophomore Sam Harris gave the Blue Devils the lead in the eighth, with a two-out, two-RBI single to right.
• 37 home runs were hit during the entirety of the NCAA Athens Regional.
• The Cowboys finished the 2025 season with a record of 30-24.
