Georgia moves up one spot in College Football Playoff Rankings

The Georgia Bulldogs have moved up one spot in the latest College Football Playoff Rankings released Tuesday evening by the selection committee.

Georgia (11-1, 7-1 SEC) moved up a spot to No. 3 after defeating the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, 16-9, coupled with previously No. 3 Texas A&M losing at Texas, 27-17.

The Ohio State Buckeyes (12-0) top the CFP rankings for the fifth consecutive week. The Buckeyes are followed by No. 2 Indiana, who they will play in the Big Ten Championship Game this weekend. Texas Tech and Oregon round out the top five.

Teams in the College Football Playoff Rankings that Georgia has played include No. 6 Ole Miss (Won 43-35), No. 9 Alabama (Lost 24-21), No. 13 Texas (Won 35-10), and No. 22 Georgia Tech (Won 16-9).

Georgia is currently ranked No. 3 in the AP Poll and US LBM Coaches Poll. Check out the full College Football Playoff Rankings below:

On Sunday, Dec. 7, the College Football Playoff Selection Committee will announce the 12-team playoff bracket pairings and game sites via the Selection Day show beginning at noon ET on ESPN.

The No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs are next scheduled to face the No. 9 Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga., on Saturday, Dec. 6. The game will be televised by ABC and streamed via ESPN+ at 4:00pm ET (Buy Tickets).
