Georgia holds position in AP poll following bye week

The Georgia Bulldogs, who enjoyed their first of two open dates this weekend, have remained No. 5 in the AP Poll for Week 5.

Georgia held on to the No. 5 in the AP Poll despite not playing on Saturday. The Bulldogs received 1,420 points in the AP Poll, which is eight less points than they received in last week’s poll.

The Top 5 of the AP Poll changed slightly this week. Ohio State remains the top-ranked team with 52 first-place votes. Miami is the new No. 2 team, followed by No. 3 Penn State, No. 4 LSU, and No. 5 Georgia.

In the Coaches Poll, the Bulldogs remain No. 3. Georgia received 1,497 points, which is four less points than last week.

The Bulldogs’ next game is on Saturday, Sept. 27 against the No. 14 Alabama Crimson Tide at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga. The game will be televised by ABC and streamed via ESPN3 at 7:30pm ET (Buy Tickets).
