Georgia football junior linebacker CJ Allen has been named to the 2025 Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Watch List, it was announced Tuesday.
The Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year award is given annually to the college football player who has “…demonstrated a record of leadership by exhibiting exceptional courage, integrity and sportsmanship both on and off the field.”
Walker is one of 67 candidates named to the Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Watch List this season. Each candidate was nominated by their school.
“It is an incredible honor to announce this group of young men as the watch list for the Collegiate Man of the Year,” said Witten. “These student-athletes have all demonstrated exceptional leadership, often in the face of adversity, and are perfect examples of what the sport of college football is all about.”
20 semifinalists for the award will be announced on Tuesday, Oct. 14, followed by the announcement of the three finalists on Monday, Dec. 15. The winner of the 2025 Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year award will be announced at a ceremony at The Star in Frisco, Texas, on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
CJ Allen (6-1, 235) hails from Barnesville, Ga. Earlier this season, Allen recorded a career-high 11 tackles in a 44-41 overtime win against the Tennessee Volunteers. Through four games, Allen has 30 total tackles (15 solo, 15 assisted), 1.5 tackles for loss and one quarterback sack.
Georgia’s next game is on Saturday, Oct. 4 against the Kentucky Wildcats at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga. The game will be televised by ABC and streamed via ESPN3 at noon ET (Buy Tickets).
