Georgia to face Xavier in Shriners Children’s Charleston Classic

The Georgia Bulldogs will play the Xavier Musketeers in the opening round of the 2025 Shriners Children’s Charleston Classic in November, it was officially announced Tuesday.

The Charleston Classic is an annual college basketball tournament that is held at TD Arena in Charleston, S.C. This season’s games are slated for Friday, Nov. 21 and Sunday, Nov. 23, 2025.

Georgia and Xavier are the second game slated for Friday, with tipoff set for 9:00pm ET and live television coverage on ESPN2. The Clemson Tigers will face the West Virginia Mountaineers in the first game at 6:30pm ET, also airing on ESPN2.

The 2025 Shriners Children’s Charleston Classic will conclude on Sunday, Nov. 23, with the championship game set for 1:00pm ET and the consolation contest slated for 3:30pm ET. Both of Sunday’s games will air live on ESPN.

Georgia last faced Xavier in the opening round of the 2024 NIT in Athens. The Bulldogs defeated the Musketeers in that contest, 78-76, but Xavier still leads the overall series 3-2.

Georgia’s home non-conference schedule for the 2025-26 season was officially announced by the school in June. The Bulldogs will open the season at home at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Ga., on Monday, Nov. 3 against the Bellarmine Knights.

Other opponents slated to visit Stegeman Coliseum include Maryland Eastern Shore on Wednesday, Nov. 5, Morehead State on Sunday, Nov. 9, Georgia Tech on Friday, Nov. 14, and Florida A&M on Monday, Nov. 17.

Following the Charleston Classic, the Bulldogs will host Tennessee Tech on Saturday, Nov. 29, Western Carolina on Thursday, Dec. 18, West Georgia on Monday, Dec. 22, and LIU on Monday, Dec. 29.

Georgia is also scheduled to visit the Florida State Seminoles in a 2025 ACC/SEC Challenge matchup on Tuesday, Dec. 2. Additionally, Georgia will reportedly face the Cincinnati Bearcats in Holiday Hoopsgiving on Sunday, Dec. 13 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Ga.

Georgia’s SEC schedule for the 2025-26 season has also been set by the conference. The Bulldogs will open SEC play on Saturday, Jan. 3 at home against the Auburn Tigers inside Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Ga.

Other home SEC games for the Bulldogs include Ole Miss (Jan. 13-14), Arkansas (Jan. 17), Tennessee (Jan. 27-28), Texas A&M (Jan. 31), Florida (Feb. 10-11), Texas (Feb. 21), South Carolina (Feb. 28), and Alabama (March 3-4).

Conference road games for Georgia include Florida (Jan. 6-7), South Carolina (Jan. 10), Missouri (Jan. 20-21), Texas (Jan. 24), LSU (Feb. 7), Oklahoma (Feb. 14), Kentucky (Feb. 17-18), Vanderbilt (Feb. 25-26), and Mississippi State (March 7).
