Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have flipped yet another highly coveted SEC commitment, securing a pledge from 2026 cornerback Caden Harris. The 6-foot, 170-pound standout from Haywood High School in Brownsville, Tennessee, had been committed to Vanderbilt, but after taking his official visit to Athens the weekend of June 6th, the tide began to turn in favor of the Dawgs.

Georgia’s momentum in Harris’s recruitment became unmistakable following that visit. The four-star cornerback had long been on the radar of several top-tier SEC programs, including Alabama, Auburn, and Ole Miss. However, during Harris’s official visit, the Bulldogs could combine elite player development, national title contention, and a welcoming environment that ultimately sealed the deal.

Harris brings speed, versatility, and sticky coverage skills, perfectly fitting what Georgia demands from its defensive backs. His ability to mirror receivers in man coverage and the physicality he brings in run support made him one of the more underappreciated corners in the 2026 cycle… until now.

With Harris on board, Georgia continues to build an elite defensive back haul in the 2026 class. He becomes the fifth secondary piece in the group, joining safeties Kealan Jones, Jordan Smith, and Zach Fort, along with fellow cornerback Justice Fitzpatrick. This group is shaping up to be a balanced and athletic unit capable of reloading the secondary for years to come.

For Harris, the opportunity to compete at the highest level in college football and be developed by one of the nation’s top defensive minds in Kirby Smart was too good to pass up. The Bulldogs’ reputation for producing NFL-caliber defensive backs resonates with elite prospects across the country, as players like Tyson Campbell, Eric Stokes, and Kamari Lassiter have all found professional success at cornerback. Harris hopes to be one of the next in line.
