The Georgia Bulldogs are once again in the spotlight of the recruiting world as five-star quarterback Jared Curtis nears his highly anticipated commitment decision. With his final two choices down to Georgia and Oregon, the elite signal-caller from Tennessee is keeping his intentions private ahead of his upcoming announcement. Curtis will make his decision and announce on Monday, May 5th.

Curtis was previously committed to Georgia from March through October 2024, and despite backing off that pledge, the Bulldogs never eased up in their pursuit. Offensive coordinator Mike Bobo has remained a constant presence in Curtis’ recruitment, maintaining a strong relationship and making multiple visits to reaffirm Georgia’s belief that he is the right fit to lead their future quarterback room.

Georgia’s investment in Curtis has been substantial. The Bulldogs made a bold statement in the Class of 2026 by prioritizing him over then-in-state star Julian “Juju” Lewis. At the time, Lewis was still a top prospect in the 2026 cycle, but later reclassified to 2025 and enrolled early at Colorado under head coach Deion Sanders. While Lewis’s move generated headlines, Georgia stayed laser-focused on Curtis, viewing him as a long-term centerpiece.

The upcoming decision carries significant weight. Curtis brings not only elite arm talent and leadership but could also influence the direction of Georgia’s entire 2026 recruiting class. His choice may have a ripple effect, particularly with other top prospects like five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell, who maintains close ties with Curtis and is watching his decision closely.

Though Georgia has the edge in familiarity and continuity, especially with Bobo’s involvement, Oregon presents a formidable challenge. The Ducks have surged in national recruiting and boast strong NIL opportunities that continue to sway top-tier talent. However, Curtis and his family have remained measured, emphasizing overall fit and development over hype or headlines.

As the announcement nears, Georgia fans hope their program’s consistency and long-standing pursuit will pay off. If the Bulldogs land Curtis again, it will solidify their future at the quarterback position and reaffirm their standing as one of the nation’s premier recruiting powerhouses.

Will Curtis return to the Bulldogs or start a new chapter in Eugene? The answer will soon send shockwaves through college football’s 2026 recruiting landscape.
