Georgia adds Western Carolina to 2025-26 basketball schedule

The Georgia Bulldogs have added the Western Carolina Catamounts to their 2025-26 basketball schedule, according to a report from Alex Rosinski.
Georgia will host Western Carolina on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025 at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Ga., per the report.

The 2025 Georgia-Western Carolina game will mark the tenth meeting between the two schools on the hardcourt. In their most recent matchup during the 2022-23 season, the Bulldogs defeated the Catamounts 68-55 in Athens, to improve their record in the series to 9-0.
Western Carolina is a member of the Southern Conference (SoCon) in Division I. The Catamounts finished the 2024-25 season 8-22 overall and 4-14 in conference play.
In other home non-conference action this fall, Georgia will host the Morehead State Eagles on Nov. 9, West Georgia Wolves on Dec. 22, and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on a date to be announced. Additionally, the Bulldogs will play in the 2025 Charleston Classic along with Clemson, West Virginia, and Xavier.
The 2025-26 season will be the fourth for Georgia under head coach Mike White. The Bulldogs finished the 2024-25 season 20-13 overall (8-10 SEC) and played in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2015.
