Georgia moves up two spots in College Football Playoff Rankings

The Georgia Bulldogs have moved up in the latest College Football Playoff Rankings released Tuesday evening by the CFP Committee.

Georgia (10-2, 6-2 SEC) moved up two spots to No. 5 after defeating the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at home, 44-42 in eight overtimes.

The Oregon Ducks (12-0) top the CFP rankings for the fifth consecutive week. The Ducks are followed by the Texas Longhorns (second), Penn State Nittany Lions (third), and Notre Dame Fighting Irish (fourth).

Teams in the latest College Football Playoff Rankings that Georgia has played include No. 2 Texas (won 30-15), No. 7 Tennessee (won 31-17), No. 11 Alabama (lost 41-34), No. 13 Ole Miss (lost 28-10), and No. 17 Clemson (won 34-3).

Georgia is currently ranked No. 5 in the AP Poll and US LBM Coaches Poll. Check out the full College Football Playoff Rankings below:

Here is a look at what the 12-team College Football Playoff Bracket would look like based on tonight’s rankings:

On Sunday, Dec. 8, the College Football Playoff Selection Committee will announce the 12-team playoff bracket pairings and game sites via the Selection Day show beginning at noon ET on ESPN.

The No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs are next scheduled to face the No. 2 Texas Longhorns in the SEC Championship Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga., on Saturday, Dec. 7. The game will be televised by ABC and streamed via ESPN+ at 4:00pm ET (Buy Tickets).
