Tray Scott named 2024 Broyles Award nominee

Georgia defensive line coach Tray Scott has been named a 2024 Broyles Award nominee, the Frank & Barbara Broyles Foundation announced on Tuesday.

The Broyles Award is an annual award that is presented to the top assistant coach in college football. Tray Scott is one of 65 nominees that were selected from approximately 1,500 coaches representing 134 teams in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS).

The Broyles Award selection process includes the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA), broadcasters, a college football hall-of-fame selection committee, and current college head coaches.

Other SEC assistant coaches nominated include Nick Sheridan (Alabama, Offensive Coordinator), Travis Williams (Arkansas, Defensive Coordinator/LB), D.J. Durkin (Defensive Coordinator/LB), Jabbar Juluke (Associate Head Coach – O/RB), Blake Baker (LSU, Defensive Coordinator), Corey Batoon (Missouri, Defensive Coordinator), Zac Alley (Co-Defensive Coordinator/LB), Pete Golding (Ole Miss, Defensive Coordinator/LB), Clayton White (South Carolina, Defensive Coordinator/ILB), Tim Banks (Tennessee, Defensive Coordinator), Pete Kwiatkowski (Texas, Defensive Coordinator/OLB), Jay Bateman (Defensive Coordinator/LB), and Tim Beck (Vanderbilt, Offensive Coordinator).

The selection will select 15 semi-finalists, five finalists from the list of nominees, and an overall winner in the coming weeks.

The No. 7 Georgia Bulldogs (9-2, 6-2 SEC) are next scheduled to host the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Friday, Nov. 29 at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga. The game will be televised by ABC at 7:30pm ET (Buy Tickets).

Georgia has also qualified for the 2024 SEC Championship Game on Saturday, Dec. 7 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga. The Bulldogs will face either the Texas Longhorns or Texas A&M Aggies.
