Georgia moves up in latest College Football Playoff Rankings

The Georgia Bulldogs have moved up to No. 10 in the latest College Football Playoff Rankings released Tuesday evening by the CFP Committee.

Georgia (8-2) moved up two spots to No. 10 after defeating the Tennessee Volunteers at home, 31-17. Tennessee dropped four spots to No. 11 following the loss to the Bulldogs.

The Oregon Ducks (11-0) top the CFP rankings for the third consecutive week, followed again by the  Ohio State Buckeyes (9-1) in second. The Texas Longhorns (third), Penn State Nittany Lions (fourth), and Indiana Hoosiers (fifth) round out the top five of the third set of CFP rankings.

Other teams in the third College Football Playoff Rankings that Georgia has played include No. 3 Texas (won 30-15), No. 7 Alabama (lost 41-34), No. 9 Ole Miss (lost 28-10), and No. 17 Clemson (won 34-3).

Georgia is currently ranked No. 8 in the AP Poll and US LBM Coaches Poll. Check out the full College Football Playoff Rankings below:

Here is a look at what the 12-team College Football Playoff Bracket would look like based on tonight’s rankings:

The College Football Playoff Selection Committee will release their Top 25 rankings each week on Tuesday through December 3. On Sunday, Dec. 8 at Noon ET, the College Football Playoff Selection Committee will announce the 12-team playoff bracket. Below is the schedule of dates (all times Eastern):

  • Tuesday, Nov. 26: 8-9pm
  • Tuesday, Dec. 3: 7-7:30pm
  • Sunday, Dec. 8 (selection day): Noon-4pm

The Georgia Bulldogs are next scheduled to host the UMass Minutemen on Saturday, Nov. 23 at Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga. The game will be televised by the SEC Network at 12:45pm ET (Buy Tickets).
