Georgia moves up to second in AP, Coaches polls after defeating Texas

The Georgia Bulldogs, who defeated the Texas Longhorns on Saturday, 30-15, have moved up to second in the AP and Coaches polls for Week 9.

Georgia received 1,434 points in the AP Poll, up from the 1,300 it received in the Week 8 poll. The Oregon Ducks took over the top spot with 59 first-place votes, while Georgia garnered the remaining two. Rounding out the AP Top 5 are Penn State, Ohio State, and Texas.

In the Coaches Poll, the Bulldogs received 1,238 points, up from the 1,189 points it received last week. Georgia received two first-place votes, while No. 1 Oregon claimed the other 51 votes. Penn State, Ohio State, and Miami round out the Coaches top five.

Next week on Saturday, Oct. 26, Georgia will enjoy it’s second and final open date of the season. Then on Saturday, Nov. 2, the Bulldogs travel to Jacksonville, Fla., to take on the Florida Gators at EverBank Stadium. The game will be televised by ABC at 3:30pm ET (Buy Tickets).
