Georgia adds Alabama A&M to 2024-25 basketball schedule

The Georgia Bulldogs have added the Alabama A&M Bulldogs to their 2024-25 basketball schedule, per a report from Made For March.

Georgia will host Alabama A&M on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Ga., and the Bulldogs will pay the visiting Bulldogs a $90,000 guarantee, per the report.

In two prior meetings with Alabama A&M, Georgia came out on top, 71-54 in 2004 and 80-36 in 2006.

Alabama is a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) in Division I. The Bulldogs finished the 2023-24 season 12-23 overall and 9-9 in conference play.

Although Georgia’s non-conference schedule for the 2024-25 season has not yet been officially announced, several other games have been confirmed or reported. Georgia will open the season at home at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Ga., against Tennessee Tech on Monday, Nov. 4.

The Bulldogs then have two games scheduled in Athens as part of the Peach State Classic — Texas Southern on Nov. 10 and North Florida on Nov. 12.

Georgia then heads for the Bahamas where it will square off with Marquette on Nov. 23 and St. John’s on Nov. 24. Both of those games have officially been announced by UGA.

The Bulldogs will also play in the ACC/SEC Challenge this season. Georgia will host Notre Dame on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at Stegeman Coliseum, which was officially announced.

Also via an official announcement, Georgia will take on Grand Canyon in Holiday Hoopsgiving 2024. Georgia and Grand Canyon will square off in the annual event at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Ga., on Sunday, Dec. 14.

Other non-conference opponents reported include Buffalo (Dec. 19), Charleston Southern (Dec. 22), and South Carolina State (Dec. 29) in Athens. Georgia will also travel to Atlanta to face in-state rival Georgia Tech on a date to be determined.

Georgia’s SEC opponents for the 2024-25 season have also been set by the conference. The Bulldogs will host Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt at Stegeman Coliseum.

Road SEC opponents include Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Texas A&M.
