Georgia tops College Football Playoff Rankings for second consecutive week

The Georgia Bulldogs top the 2023 College Football Playoff Rankings for the second consecutive week, the CFP selection committee announced on Tuesday.

Georgia held onto the top spot after trouncing the 18th-ranked Tennessee Volunteers in Knoxville, 38-10. Rounding out the top five are Ohio State, Michigan, Washington, and Florida State. Oregon, Texas, and Alabama are again ranked sixth, seventh, and eighth, respectively.

The undefeated Bulldogs have now recorded three victories over teams that are currently ranked by the College Football Playoff — 52-17 over 12th-ranked Ole Miss, 30-21 over ninth-ranked Missouri, and 38-10 over 21st-ranked Tennessee. Georgia will face No. 8 Alabama in the SEC Championship Game on Dec. 2.

The Bulldogs are currently ranked number one in the AP Poll and US LBM Coaches Poll.

The College Football Playoff Selection Committee will release its penultimate Top 25 rankings on Tuesday, Nov. 28 at 7:00pm. Their final rankings will be revealed on Selection Day on Sunday, Dec. 3 (Noon-4pm ET).

On Selection Day, the College Football Playoff Selection Committee will announce the Playoff Semifinal pairings and semifinal bowl assignments. Those will be followed by the pairings for the remainder of the New Year’s Six bowl games.

The top-ranked Bulldogs’ next game is on Saturday, Nov. 25 against the in-state rival Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta, Ga. (Buy Tickets). The game will be televised by ABC at 7:30pm ET.

Georgia is also set to face the Alabama Crimson Tide in the 2023 SEC Championship Game on Saturday, Dec. 2 (Buy Tickets). That contest will kickoff at 4:00pm ET with television coverage via CBS.
