The Georgia Bulldogs have added the North Florida Ospreys to their 2023-24 basketball schedule, SicEmDawgs.com has confirmed.

News of the matchup was first reported by Jon Rothstein on April 27.

According to the copy of the contract obtained from the University of North Florida via a public records request, Georgia will host North Florida at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Ga., on Friday, Dec. 22, 2023. The Bulldogs will pay the Ospreys an $85,000 guarantee for the game.

North Florida is a member of the ASUN Conference in Division I. Georgia and North Florida have never met in basketball, but Mike White has recorded six victories over the Ospreys in six attempts.

Last week, it was reported that Georgia will play in the 2023 Baha Mar Bahamas Hoops Championship, an annual preseason college basketball tournament that is held at the Baha Mar Convention Center in Nassau, Bahamas. Games will be played Friday, Nov. 17 through Sunday, Nov. 19.

Georgia is expected to play in the tournament along with the Miami Hurricanes, Kansas State Wildcats, and Providence Friars.

In home non-conference action this season at Stegeman Coliseum, Georgia is scheduled to host the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Friday, Nov. 10 and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on a date to be announced. The remainder of Georgia’s non-conference schedule will be reported over the next few months.

The 2023-24 season will be the second under head coach Mike White. The Bulldogs finished the 2022-23 season 16-16 overall (6-12 SEC), a 10-win improvement over the previous season.
