Georgia adds Miami (Ohio), Florida A&M to 2022-23 basketball schedule
The Georgia Bulldogs have added the Miami (Ohio) RedHawks and the Florida A&M Rattlers to their 2022-23 basketball schedule, according to a report by Rocco Miller.
Georgia will host Miami (Ohio) at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Ga., on Monday, Nov. 14, 2022. SicEmDawgs.com obtained the contract for this game from Miami and confirmed the game date and also learned that the Bulldogs will pay the RedHawks an $85,000 guarantee for the game.
Miami (Ohio) is a member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC). Georgia and Miami have only squared off once in their history, with the Bulldogs winning that contest in 2001.
Miller also reports that Georgia will host Florida A&M of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) on Friday, Dec. 2, 2022. The Bulldogs and Rattlers first met in basketball in 2003 and played most recently in 2020. Georgia leads the overall series 4-0.
Earlier this month, it was announced that Georgia will face Notre Dame in Holiday Hoopsgiving 2022 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Ga., on Sunday, Dec. 18.
In home non-conference action this season, Georgia is scheduled to host Bucknell on Nov. 18 and Chattanooga on Dec. 21. The Bulldogs will travel to play Wake Forest on Nov. 11 and Georgia Tech on Dec. 6.
Additionally, Georgia will play two games in the 2022 Sunshine Slam, which was officially announced on April 13. Georgia will compete in the “Beach Bracket” and will take on the Saint Joseph Hawks on Nov. 21. The Bulldogs will then play the UAB Blazers or the South Florida Bulls the following day in the championship game or consolation game.
In SEC action this season, Georgia is scheduled to host Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri, Ole Miss, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt. Road SEC opponents include Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas A&M.
