Georgia to open 2021-22 season vs. FIU, sets Memphis date
The Georgia Bulldogs will open their fourth season under head coach Tom Crean at home against the FIU Panthers, according to a report by Jon Rothstein.
Georgia will host FIU at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Ga., on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2021, per the report. FIU, a member of Conference USA, finished the 2020-21 season 9-17 overall and 2-15 in C-USA action.

The 2021 Georgia-FIU contest will mark the first-ever meeting between the two schools on the hardcourt.
The Georgia Bulldogs have also set the date for the second game of their home-and-home series with the Memphis Tigers at Stegeman Coliseum. According to The D1 Docket, Georgia and Memphis will square off on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021.
Georgia will host Memphis on December 1st to wrap up the home and home series which began during the 2019-20 season, per public records obtained by @TheD1Docket.

In the first game of the series on Jan. 4, 2020, Georgia defeated Memphis 65-62 at FedExForum in Memphis, Tenn. With the win, the Bulldogs now lead the overall series with the Tigers 2-1.
In other non-conference action this season, Georgia is scheduled to play at the Cincinnati Bearcats on Saturday, Nov. 13 and host the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Friday, Nov. 19. Other opponents scheduled to visit Athens this fall include Jacksonville (Dec. 7), George Mason (Dec. 18), Western Carolina (Dec. 20), ETSU (Dec. 22), and Gardner-Webb (Dec. 29).
The Hoop Dawgs are also scheduled to compete in the 2021 Legends Classic at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., on Monday, Nov. 22 and Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021. Georgia will face Virginia in the first round, followed by either Providence, or Northwestern in the championship or consolation game.
Georgia’s SEC opponents for the 2021-22 season were announced last month. The Bulldogs will host Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt.
Road SEC contests for Georgia in 2021-22 include Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri, South Carolina, Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt.
