Georgia finishes No. 7 in final AP Top 25 Poll for 2020 season
The Georgia Bulldogs have finished ranked No. 7 in the final AP Top 25 Poll of the 2020 season.
Georgia finished the season 8-2 overall and defeated the No. 8 Cincinnati Bearcats in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, 24-21. That win moved the Bulldogs up four spots from No. 11.
Georgia received 1,144 points in the AP Poll, which is up 176 points from the Week 16 poll.
The Alabama Crimson Tide finished No. 1 in the AP Poll after they defeated the third-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes 52-24 to win the College Football Playoff National Championship. The Crimson Tide finished their championship season 13-0 and claimed their sixth title under head coach Nick Saban.
Ohio State (7-1) moved up to No. 2, while the Clemson Tigers dropped one spot to No. 3. The Texas A&M Aggies and Notre Dame Fighting Irish round out the top five.
Georgia is scheduled to open the 2021 season on Saturday, Sept. 4 against the Clemson Tigers in the Duke’s Mayo Kickoff. The game will be played at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.
