UGA junior quarterback Jake Fromm has been named to the 2019 Davey O’Brien Award Watch List, the Davey O’Brien Foundation has announced.

The Davey O’Brien Award is an annual award given to the nation’s top quarterback. Fromm is one of 30 student-athletes named to this year’s watch list.

Fromm was also named to the Davey O’Brien Award Watch List last season, and he was later named one of the 16 semifinalists.

Sixteen semifinalists for the 2019 Davey O’Brien Award will be announced on Wednesday, Nov. 13, followed by the three finalists on Monday, Nov. 25. The winner of the 2019 Davey O’Brien Award will be announced at the Home Depot College Football Awards Show on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2019 live on ESPN.

For the 13th season, fans will be able to participate in the voting process for the Davey O’Brien Award at VoteObrien.org. Results from the fan vote will be combined with ballots from the selection committee.

As a sophomore, Jake Fromm completed 207 of 307 passes for 2,761 yards and 30 touchdowns with just seven interceptions. Overall, Fromm has completed 388 of 598 passes for 5,376 yards, 54 touchdowns, and only 13 interceptions.

Other SEC quarterbacks named to the 2019 watch list include Tua Tagovailoa (Alabama), Jake Bentley (South Carolina), Joe Burrow (LSU), Feleipe Franks (Florida), and Kellen Mond (Texas A&M).

The Georgia Bulldogs open the 2019 season on Saturday, August 31 against the Vanderbilt Commodores at Vanderbilt Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. The game is set for 7:30pm ET and it will be televised by the SEC Network.
