UGA head coach Kirby Smart has added Shane Beamer to his coaching staff, the school officially announced on Tuesday. Beamer will coach the Bulldogs’ special teams and tight ends.
Shane Beamer is the eighth assistant coach named to the new Georgia Bulldogs staff. Others include Glenn Schumann and Kevin Sherrer (defense), Tracy Rocker (defensive line), Sam Pittman (offensive line), Jim Chaney(offensive coordinator/QB’s), Dell McGee (running backs), and James Coley (wide receivers).

Prior to joining the Hokies staff, Beamer served as an assistant coach at South Carolina (2007-10) and Mississippi State (2004-06). He also held graduate assistant positions at Tennessee (2001-03) and Georgia Tech (2000). At South Carolina, Beamer coordinated the special teams and coached outside linebackers. His 2009 special teams unit blocked five kicks, tying for the SEC lead and ranking eighth in the nation. In his final two years in Columbia, Beamer also served as recruiting coordinator.
Beamer, son of long time Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer, was a wide receiver and long snapper with the Hokies from 1995-99.

So glad we are finally getting a Special Teams Coach, it is about time! Welcome to UGA Mr. Beamer. I'm hoping Kirby and all the new coaches will continue to put the Lord first and guide our young men not only to athletic excellence but to spiritual excellence as well.
