Floyd, Jenkins named to 2015 Bednarik Award Watch List

UGA outside linebackers Leonard Floyd and Jordan Jenkins have each been named to the 2015 Bednarik Award Watch List, the Maxwell Football Club announced today.

The Bednarik Award, named after Chuck Bednarik, is an annual award given to the college football defensive player of the year.

Last season, Leonard Floyd and Jordan Jenkins were both announced to the Bednarik Watch List along with Ramik Wilson. Pittsburgh defensive back Aaron Donald was later named the recipient of the 2015 award.

Semifinalists for the 2015 Bednarik Award will be announced on Monday, Nov. 2, followed by the three finalists on Monday, Nov. 23. The winner of the 2015 Bednarik Award will be announced at the Home Depot College Football Awards Show on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015.

Floyd (6-4, 231), a junior from Eastman, Georgia, led the Bulldogs in 2014 with six sacks. He also recorded 55 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 17 quarterback pressures, and three forced fumbles.

Jenkins (6-3, 253) is a senior from Hamilton, Georgia. Last season, he recorded 70 total tackles with 9.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, and 24 quarterback pressures. Jenkins also recovered two fumbles and forced an additional two.
