Former Virginia quarterback Greyson Lambert will visit Georgia this Saturday and Sunday, per a report by 247Sports.

Lambert, who just graduated from the University of Virginia, has two seasons of eligibility remaining and can play immediately.

As a sophomore, Lambert started nine games for the Cavaliers. He completed 154 of 261 passes for 1,632 yards with 10 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He missed three games, however, due to an ankle injury.

Earlier today, the Athens Banner-Herald reported that Georgia had received permission to speak with Greyson Lambert.

According to 247Sports, Lambert will visit Florida after Georgia and he’s also hearing from Colorado State (now coached by Mike Bobo), Fresno State, Purdue, and South Alabama.

Mark Richt has stated recently that he likes to keep 4-5 scholarship quarterbacks on the roster. Right now he has three: redshirt sophomore Brice Ramsey, junior Faton Bauta, and redshirt freshman Jacob Park.

  • Can't be a good sign about our current QB's if we are looking for outside help.

    • CMR has said he likes 4-5 QB's on scholarship. Right now we only have 3, so getting Lambert would be good for depth, especially if whoever isn't named the No. 1 QB in the Fall decides to transfer.

  • I'm sure he isn't considering UGA if he doesn't have a good chance of being the guy. Hence, I'm sure the other QBs can read that as CMR does not think we are good enough to play. Look for transfers.Oh yeah, Jacob Eason is due in Athens in Jan. Bottom-line, if you have 4 QBs it means you don;t have one. Uh-oh
