UGA has issued a statement on suspended tailback Todd Gurley after a meeting with the NCAA in Indianapolis today.
“Today, President Jere W. Morehead, J. Reid Parker Director of Athletics Greg McGarity, and other University of Georgia representatives met in Indianapolis with the NCAA Committee on Infractions to discuss the ongoing case of the UGA head swimming and diving coach. While in Indianapolis, Georgia representatives also met with the NCAA eligibility staff regarding the ongoing matter involving Todd Gurley. There is no new news at this time and no further comment is necessary.”
Basically, they made a statement around 4pm that they would have a statement around 5pm. At 5:30pm, UGA issued the statement above.
Shortly afterwards, the NCAA released the following:
So there you go. Todd Gurley remains suspended indefinitely. He will not make the trip to Little Rock unless a decision is made before the UGA plane departs, which should be around noon on Friday.
Georgia and Arkansas square off at 4pm ET on Saturday at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock. The game will be televised by the SEC Network.

Why can a college make millions off a players name and ability but a player can not make money off his own name. I think it is unfair and unconstitutional.
You are so right Latrice, I have wondered the same things and when asked about it they always say it is someone else's responsibility to make that decision...
What is still driving me crazy is the fact that Todd Gurley did nothing but sell his autograph, something that belongs to him and no one else. He did not sell and property or items given to him by UGA.What he did hurt ABSOLUTELY NO ONE! And he is STILL suspended. Meanwhile at FSU, Jameis Winston sold his autograph, got up on a table at the student union screaming sexual vulgarities and insults to women everywhere, was caught shoplifting, AND RAPED A WOMAN....yet he is still playing, Anyone else see a problem? The shameless corruption by Jimbo Fisher & FSU is disgusting and truly puts a spotlight Mark Richt and UGA's integrity & moral character. But enough is enough. Gurley's been suspended for long enough already. Compared to Jameis Winston, Todd Gurley is a saint. He's served more than enough suspension time for what he did. NOW LET #3 PLAY!!!
NCAA is waiting for UGA to apply for Gurley's reinstatement...WTF? What is UGA waiting on? To make a statement that UGA is above one player??? Okay UGA...you have proved your point. Fill out the reinstatement papers tonight, scan or fax the papers in, and let's roll with Gurley. Chubb is a great back, but we need Gurley to pound the rock with Chubb against Arkansas.
Maybe we need to suspend the AD and find someone who cares. In two years these holier than thou leaders will b out trying to secure funds for the school. Like to know what he did different than Winston!
IF UGA LOSES AGAINST THE HOGS IT WILL BE BECAUSE TODD WAS NOT ALLOWED TO PLAY..SO BE PREPARED FOR A LET DOWN AND TERRIBLE CONSEQUENCES.
Have faith Dawg fans. Even though we are favored by Vegas, everyone is saying we will lose. Defense wins championships and tough road games. Watch that D do its thing today. Pruitt has them going well. That Hog QB will get rattled and often by our D. Look for Mitchell or JSW to get loose or Bennett or Rome. Dont forget that toss sweep cant be stopped by anyone in college football. Ask Clemson about it whos ranked in the top 10 in Defense. If we can get a 2 TD lead early, the hogs will go to the pass and we will punish them. The key is rotating guys on offense and defense to keep them fresh. Dawgs 31 - 13.
KEN ABNEY--You must be talking bout the GA's Practice Squad!! Gurley was on suspension last week and look what they did to Mizzou... DAWGS are not a ONE (1) MAN TEAM--- GOOoo DAWGS!! WOOF WOOf WOof Woof woof Em!!!! DAWGS~~~~~
can't understand why UGA doesn't ask for reinstatement? Has it been proved that Todd did anything wrong? Let him PLAY!!!!
One man doesn't make a team.i commend Richt for suspending him for doing wrong for once there is a team that still has morals.Mark has always stood for the right thing and that's the reason I still have faith in him to get the job done with or without a great player they just have to rise above all the talk by media and so called fand
