UGA picked to finish 2nd in SEC East by media
Today at SEC Media Days, over a thousand members of the media voted for their predicted order of finish this football season.
Georgia was voted second behind South Carolina in the SEC East. The Dawgs received 1,777 points, while the Gamecocks had 1,895.
When asked about being picked 2nd in the East, Mark Richt had this response:
“Obviously, what’s important is what happens at the end of the year. Earlier I got asked that question. I said, I’m not happy to be named number two. I’m not going to start cheering that we’re number two. I think in the end it’s going to be Georgia.”
Alabama was picked to finish first in the West. The Crimson Tide had 1,915 points, which was ahead of Auburn (1,735) and LSU (1,453).
