The 2014 Georgia Bulldogs G-Day Spring football game will be held on Saturday, April 12. Kickoff is set for 1pm ET and the game will be broadcast by CSS and ESPN3 (subject to blackout).

The Masters Golf Tournament will be held April 11-14, so this will be the first time since 2010 that G-Day and the Masters are on the same weekend.

Georgia opens the 2014 season at home against the Clemson Tigers on Saturday, Aug. 30. The Dawgs get the next weekend off before opening SEC play at South Carolina on Sept. 13.

The remainder of Georgia’s 2014 schedule includes home games against Troy, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Auburn, and Charleston Southern and road games at Missouri, Arkansas, and Kentucky. UGA also faces Florida in Jacksonville.

With Aaron Murray set to depart UGA after this season, Hutson Mason will likely be the starter for the Dawgs next year. Mason, who redshirted last season, will be a senior in 2014.

Brice Ramsey, Christian LeMay, and Faton Bauta will compete for the backup spot and some playing time. 2014 commitment Jacob Park will also be on the roster.

A bright spot for the Georgia offense will be the return of running backs Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall. Both backs will be juniors in 2014.

  • What is with UGA thinking? Two major events in Georgia in April and they can't find a different weekend. Damn, now I loose my chance to see the Dawgs because Mc Garity can't think clearly.

  • I guess McGarity wants to have fewer people in the stands. Either that or he's trying to schedule another mediocre concert and G-Day is in the way.

    • UGA usually doesn't sell tickets to G-Day. Admission is often free and they ask you to bring canned food for their food drive.

  • What difference if the Masters is on the same day as the G-Day game? Most of the people going to the football game can't get in the Masters anyway. For those few that are interested in attending the Masters then just go and enjoy since the spring game is not a real game anyway. BTW McGarity?
doesn't schedule the Masters and the G-Day game takes preference over golf.

  • This isn't the 1st time the G-Day game and the Masters has been on the same weekend. 3 years ago, I remember going to the game and then coming home and watching the 3rd round of the Masters on TV.

  • Whoe cares that the Masters is the same weekend/day as the Spring Game. Either go to the Spring game or to the Masters. We are adults and can make the decision. I am of the opinion that SEC football (Spring game or regular season) should take precedence over golf any day of the week.
