JUCO DT Toby Johnson to announce college decision today

Four-star JUCO defensive tackle Toby Johnson is set to announce his college decision today at a 3 p.m. ET ceremony at his school.

Johnson will choose between Auburn, Georgia, Mississippi State, and Oklahoma. Most UGA recruiting pundits don’t feel that he will pick the Dawgs and that could be due to academic issues.

Further adding to the speculation that he won’t pick Georgia, Johnson told the AJC that he hasn’t talked to the Bulldogs “in a while.”

He then added: “I really don’t want to get into that (specifics). I’m going to keep that between me and the coaches. They know the deal.”

Toby Johnson (6-4, 305) currently attends Hutchinson Community College in Hutchinson, Kansas. Rivals.com rates him as a 4-star recruit and the no. 8 junior college player in the country.

On National Signing Day, the Bulldogs inked 32 recruits. The class was ranked 12th by Rivals.com, 14th by Scout.com, and 15th by 247Sports.com.

  • Sure could use him as our defense surely lost a ton of talent. Here is hoping he will be a DAWG!

    • all right dawg, I'd give you a high five in person if I could. Oh well, here is an internet high five for you! GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • He was the top rate JUCO player until he got hurt. Now Georgia will have the depth they needed last year. We didn't have enough rotating of players, they go tired and next thing you know, Alabama runs for 350 on UGA. Not this year!

  • ,Absolutely the best signee of this class. He will contribute immediately, which is much more than Montravious ever could have.
