Houston KesslerHouston Kessler, a 2012 forward from Fairburn, GA (Landmark Christian), has signed a letter of intent to play for the Georgia Bulldogs.

The Kessler name is a familiar one to UGA basketball fans. Houston’s father, Chad Kessler, and his uncle, the late Alec Kessler, both played for the Bulldogs under Hugh Durham. Chad played from 1984-87 while Alec played from 1987-90.

Houston (6-8, 210) signed with UGA over several offers, including Air Force, Buffalo, Furman, Mississippi State, Navy, Stetston and Wofford. As a senior at Landmark, he averaged 22.5 points and 11.3 rebounds per game.

Kessler completes Georgia’s 2011-12 signing class, which also includes shooting guard Kenny Gaines, point guard Charles Mann and small forward Brandon Morris. Gaines, Mann and Morris are each rated 3-stars by the various recruiting services.

Georgia signed Kessler to a letter of intent after 5-star recruit Tony Parker chose UCLA over Georgia on Monday.
