Pete Roussel, a former coach at several schools and the owner of CoachingSearch.com, had this to say about the Falcons and Grantham:
Sources with knowledge of the situation tell me that a member of the Falcons’ organization has been in contact with Michael Harris, the agent representing University of Georgia defensive coordinator Todd Grantham. Georgia has been working on a new contract with Grantham’s agent, but don’t be surprised if the new contract is signed in the next few days. With the departure of Brian VanGorder, the Falcons are looking for a new defensive coordinator.
Grantham was named UGA’s defensive coordinator on January 15, 2010 after 11 years in the NFL. He installed a 3-4 defense which, after a steep learning curve in 2010, payed dividends for the Dawgs in 2011.
The 2010 Georgia defense ranked 23rd overall in total defense and 35th in scoring defense with 22 points allowed per game. The Dawgs also forced 26 turnovers, which was more than twice what they had in 2009 (12).
2011 was a record year for the Georgia defense as they finished the season ranked 3rd nationally in total defense, 7th in pass defense and 9th in rush defense.
Grantham is in the final year of his three-year contract that pays him $750,000 annually. Last week, it was reported that UGA and Grantham were working on a contract extension.
Here’s hoping Grantham gets that extension and stays with the Dawgs. I would rather see him in Athens than Atlanta.

I can promise you this, I won't ever by another falcons ticket, merchandise or watch another falcons game again if they take grantham. That's bad for business. Not will I buy anything from home depot again. Boycott the falcons and home depot if they take him!
I'm with Drew! If they take Grantham I will become a Saints/Lowes fan! The falcons should have stuck with BVG, he had done a hell of a job with that rag tag bunch in ATL.

I've already banned the Falcons from ever claiming a spot in my heart as "my team," but I agree with the above comments. If the Falcons yank Grantham down Atlanta Highway out of Athens, I will definitely pit myself against that team. I don't think it will happen, this could help to inflate his pay-rate though.
Hope to dear lord that Grantham stays at UGA. He's got us going in the right direction. Watch out for the DAWGS next year.
I agree with Will. Don't beleive he'll leave but will definitely get some more well deserved $$$ out of McGarity because of the circumstances.
