The NCAA uses the winning percentage of the opposition for computing their “toughest schedule” ranking. Four of the six BCS computer components use their own method for calculating strength of schedule. The four indexes are Anderson & Hester, Colley Matrix, Jeff Sagarin and Kenneth Massey.
Using the five strength of schedule sources below, the average SOS ranking of Georgia’s 2011 football schedule is 19.6. That’s not bad considering the weak schedule talk that preceded the SEC Championship Game.
The NCAA ranks Georgia’s 2011 schedule as the 18th toughest. Georgia’s opponents, including Michigan State, had 96 wins and 60 losses for a .0615 winning percentage. The top 5 of the NCAA’s Toughest Schedule rankings are LSU, Tennessee, Alabama, Auburn and Penn State.
Anderson & Hester ranks Georgia’s 2011 strength of schedule 15th. The top 5 of the A&H rankings are Kansas, Texas A&M, Texas, Oklahoma and Iowa State.
Wesley N. Colley ranks the Dawgs’ 2011 schedule 22nd in his Colley Matrix. Colley’s top 5 are LSU, Oklahoma State, Alabama, Kansas State and Stanford.
Jeff Sagarin’s ratings, which are published by USA Today, have Georgia’s schedule rated as the 26th toughest in the country. Sagarin’s top 5 are LSU, Alabama, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and Stanford.
Georgia’s 2011 schedule strength is ranked 17th by Kenneth Massey. His top 5 are LSU, Alabama, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas A&M.

I went to Sagarin and UGA was 18. Have these changed?
looks like 26 to me....
18 was Georgia's overall ranking. Look to the right in his list for the schedule strength.
drop the first zero past the decimal - 96 wins and 60 losses is a 0.615 winning percentage.
Wow.. that makes winning 10 in a row aginst the likes of Mississippi and the state of Tenn, a little easier to swallow. Yack....
