Georgia to open 2013 and 2014 football seasons against Clemson

GeorgiaThe Georgia Bulldogs will open the 2013 and 2014 football seasons against Clemson, the Tigers announced today. This home-and-home series was scheduled back in 2005.

Georgia will open the 2013 season against Clemson at Memorial Stadium aka “Death Valley” on August 31, 2013. The Tigers will make the return trip to Athens on August 30, 2014.

The 2013 game will be the first meeting between these two schools since a 2003 game at Clemson. Georgia won that game 30-0 to extend their overall series lead to 41-17-4.

Georgia was previously scheduled to host North Texas on August 31, 2013, but that game has been moved to September 21. The Bulldogs also host Appalachian State on November 9 and play at Georgia Tech on November 30.

Other non-conference games for the Dawgs in 2014 include South Alabama (11/08), Charleston Southern (11/22) and Georgia Tech (11/29).
