Tight End Ty Smith Commits to Georgia

Tight end Ty Smith of Moultrie, Georgia has committed to UGA. Smith is Georgia’s fifth commitment for the 2012 recruiting class.

Smith (6-3, 228) plays for Colquitt County High School. As a junior, Smith had 42 catches for 576 yards. He committed to the Dawgs over an offer from Florida and interest from Florida State and Georgia Tech.

Ratings for the 2012 class have not been released yet, but Chad Simmons of Scout.com rates Ty Smith as the 7th best tight end in the South.
