SicEmDawgs.com

Stacy SearelsGeorgia Bulldogs offensive line coach Stacy Searels is accepting an offer for the same position at Texas, multiple sources have reported. Searels has been at UGA since 2007.

OrangeBloods.com, a Texas Longhorn site on the Rivals network, reported earlier this evening that Searels accepted Mack Brown’s offer to become their new OL coach. Searels made $290,000 last season at Georgia and is expected to make more than that in Austin.

Searels is a graduate of Auburn University and has previously coached at Appalachian State, Cincinnati and LSU. He will replace former Texas coach Mac McWhorter, who retired in December.

So who can the Dawgs get to replace the departing Searels? Here are a few names that have been mentioned:

  • Greg Adkins -Marshall graduate (1990); Tennessee OL coach from 2006-08; Georgia DL coach in 1997; Georgia OL coach from 1997-2000; currently the OL coach at Syracuse
  • Chris Scelfo -NE Louisiana graduate (1984); Georgia assistant head coach and OL coach from 1996-98; currently the tight ends coach for the Atlanta Falcons.
