Redshirt freshman Aaron Murray ran for two touchdowns and threw two touchdown passes to lead Georgia over Tennessee 41-14.
The win was the first in the conference for the Bulldogs, who now stand at 1-3 in the SEC and 2-4 overall.
Playing in only his second game since returning from a four-game suspension, A.J. Green caught 6 passes for 96 yards and a touchdown.
Murray finished the game 17-of-25 for 266 yards and two touchdowns. Caleb King led the Dawgs in rushing with 58 yards on 13 carries.
The Bulldogs’ defense stopped the Volunteers on their opening possession, stopping a string of four straight games that the opposition scored on their first drive.
Next up for the Bulldogs is a homecoming date against the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday, October 16, 2010 (12:21 p.m. ET; SEC Network).
