Georgia at Colorado – The UGA at CU Dawg Fan Tailgate Party

On October 2, 2010, the University of Georgia football team will be in beautiful Boulder, CO to take on the Colorado Buffaloes. The Colorado Dawgs have been working closely with LoDo’s Bar and Grill (a locally owned rooftop sports bar and grill) and our sponsors to bring together The UGA at CU Dawg Fan Tailgate Party.

This Tailgate Party will be held on CU campus, on the Business Field (only 1/4 mile away from Folsom Stadium), beginning five hours before kickoff. There will be a ticket fee of $26.00 per person plus a small service fee. The ticket will allow you entry into the event, a backyard grill feast of burgers, dogs, coleslaw, chips, dessert and non-alcoholic beverages (There will be a vegetarian option for those who prefer).

Update (09/16/2010) – This event is now SOLD OUT.

  • I've bought 4 tickets for this and I'm not worried about missing out on 'atmosphere' - I'm sure there will be plenty of CU fans around to walk around and abuse...

  • Well, when you here things like this from other schools that frequent CU campus "Tailgating consists of on-campus parking lots and a few random parking lots around campus and the stadium. I found these lots to be a little secluded from the other areas which makes the overall tailgating experience diminish a little because it’s with a smaller crowd." and add the fact that each parking space costs $20 (if you put out tent and chairs you'll probably take 2 spots and they'll charge for that), not to forget that many people will be traveling from out of state and not have their tailgate gear with them, we decided it would be best to throw a big group party. People are welcome to go in and out of the party so that they can walk around and enjoy the campus, but it's not like tailgating in Athens.

  • I live in Denver and want to go ahead and buy tickets(2-4) for the game. It looks like StubHub is my best option. What section(s) will have the biggest concentration of UGA alum/fans? Is there a particular hotel many of the UGA alum/fans are staying in within walking distance of the stadium?

Thanks, and look forward to a great day,
    Jack D

  • @Jack- the visitors' section of the stadium is section 2, 3, 101 and 102. I know a lot of people have bought in 103 as well. Actually, there are Dawgs that I've heard from that are sitting all over the stadium. If it gets lonely, I've been told that there is plenty of standing room in the visitors' section.

As far as hotels, you are a little late to the game. Boulder hotels have been booked for months. Although, you may get lucky as people's plans start changing. You can find all sorts of information on the blog we created for this: http://ugaatcu.wordpress.com.
